Canon Collins Trust General Scholarship Scheme
Canon Collins Trust offers scholarships to students who wish to pursue postgraduate course, including honors, Master and PhD degree programmes in South Africa. The holders of this scholarship programme works towards the development of their home country by using the knowledge, skills and education gained at the South African Universities.
Pupils from following Countries: South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Angola, Mozambique, and Zambia
Canon Collins Scholarships for Postgraduate Study in South Africa
Students who wish to pursue postgraduate study-full time or part time at South African Universities are offered Canon Scholarships for Postgraduate Study.
Eligibility Criterion
To be eligible for this scholarship programme, the candidate must be:
- A national of, or resident in, or possess refugee status, in one of the following countries- Botswana, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, and Zimbabwe
- The candidate should hold at least second class, upper division or equivalent first degree-, or about to complete his/her studies in the year of application
- The candidate should be studying or applying to study at a South African Higher Education Institution.
Graca Machel Scholarships for Women
The Graca Machel Scholarships for Women programme is for female students to assist them to go for leadership roles for the welfare of their community, nation and neighborhood.
Eligibility Criterion
To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must be-
- A Female
- A national of and resident in one of the SADC countries- DRC, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Madagascar, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Lesotho,
- The candidate should hold at least second class, upper division or equivalent first degree-, or about to graduate in the year of application
- The candidate should be studying or applying to study at a South African Higher Education Institution.
Support Offered
The Scholarship covers full tuition, stipend and other support for Honors, Masters and PhD studies at South African institutions.
Applying Ways and Means
The candidates are required to apply to their selected educational institution separately and awards are conditional on the candidate being offered a position at the relevant higher education institution
GreenMatter Bursary
The GreenMatter Fellowship is for graduates, young professionals and established leaders from all fields.
Postgraduate Awards: Cash awards are given for study at Masters Level and PhD level. Along with the financial support, pupils get professional opportunities also.
Eligibility
The candidate must be-
- A South African national
- Resident in South Africa
- The candidate should hold at least second class, upper division or equivalent first degree-, or about to graduate in the year of application
- The candidate must be looking for funds for a full or part-time Masters or doctoral programme at a South African University
- The Candidate should go for a field of study that is put in GreenMatter’s priority skill areas
- All candidates are required to prove their dedication to the sector and express how their chosen area of study relates to the GreenMatter’s priority skills.
All eligible candidates are also considered for these named awards-
Mapula Award: for pupils who wish to enroll at Stellenbosch University to start PhD studies.
Crossley-UCT Award: for pupils who wish to enroll at the University of Cape Town to start off their PhD studies.
Crossley-Stellenbosch Award: for pupils who wish to enroll at Stellenbosch University for PhD studies.
Applying Ways and Means
The candidates are required to apply to their selected educational institution separately and awards are conditional on the candidate being offered a position at the relevant higher education institution Canon Collins Trust manages the application process on behalf of GreenMatter.

Professional Development Awards
GreenMatter provides Professional Development Awards for specific professional development opportunities.

The candidate must be-
- A citizen of South Africa
- A resident in South Africa
- Presently employed in a role that is put in GreenMatter’s priority sectors
- All candidates are required to prove their dedication to the area and express how their chosen area of study relates to the GreenMatter’s priority skills.
Senior Fellow Awards
The GreenMatter Fellowship provides Senior Fellow Awards to exceptional individuals who are playing a leading role for Biodiversity. Candidates for Senior Fellow Awards are recognised by nomination only. You can self-nominate yourself also.
